An employee is entitled to receive a certificate of employment (testimonial) from the employer at the end of the employment contract. You will need a certificate of employmente when you apply for a new job or register as a jobseeker. The certificate of employment includes the duration of your employment and your tasks. The employee can also ask that the reason why the contract of employment ended and an assessment of the employee’s skills and behaviour are included in the certificate.
