According to the law, children must attend pre-primary education or other similar activities for one year before compulsory education begins. Pre-primary education (esiopetus) prepares children for comprehensive school. Children normally enter pre-primary education at the age of six and comprehensive school at the age of seven. If your family has a child born in 2018, you will receive a letter home that the child must be enrolled in pre-primary education.

You can submit the application electronically (with online banking codes) or ask for a paper form from Kastelli Residents’ Point apply for  a paper form.

The form must be sent back on 22.12.2023.

Pre-primary education is free of charge.

The child is there for 4 hours a day and after that may spend the rest of the day in daycare.
