Hämeenlinna has been chosen to participate in the two-year pre-primary education trial prepared by the Ministry of Education and Culture for the years 2021-2024.

105 municipalities in Finland have been chosen randomly for the pre-primary education trial. Provisions on the trial are laid down in the Act on a Two-Year Pre-primary Education Trial (1046/2020).

Daycare centers to participate in the education trial in Hämeenlinna are:

• Kaivokatu day care center
• Ojoinen day care center
• Kankaantaka day care center
• day care center in Lammi
• day care center in Renko
• Pilke day care center
• day care center Enkkula (Jaarlin päiväkoti)
• daycare center Tarvasmäki (Jaarlin päiväkoti)

Children born in 2016, who are now in the above-mentioned daycare centers will participate in the education trial.

Also children born in 2016, but who are now at-home care, will participate in the educational trial if their official home address indicates that one of the above-mentioned daycare centers applies to them.

The care during the pre-primary education trial is free of charge (4h/day).

Families to whose children the trial applies will be informed about it by letter soon.

Guardians can however decide whether they wish their child to participate in the trial.
