Unemployment

If you become unemployed, you must immediately register with the TE Office as a jobseeker.
If you do not have a job when your studies end, you must also register with the TE Office as a jobseeker.

You can then apply for unemployment benefits, which means the financial support for the unemployed.
If you are a member of an unemployment fund, you can receive earnings-related daily allowance. The amount of money you receive depends on how much you earned before unemployment. Read more: Trade unions
If you are not a member of an unemployment fund, you may receive the unemployment benefit paid by Kela.
You will only receive unemployment benefits if you actively look for work. The purpose of unemployment benefits is to ensure that you can cope financially when you are looking for work.
